Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to present U.S. President Donald Trump with updated intelligence during their July 28 meeting, allegedly indicating that Iran is rebuilding its military capabilities and is rapidly seeking to create a nuclear bomb. This was reported by N12.

According to the broadcaster, Netanyahu intends to convince Trump that recent events in the region allegedly prove Iran’s bad faith in the negotiations, and also that Tehran continues to develop its nuclear program and modernize its missile and drone systems. The channel notes that Netanyahu’s goal is to convince Trump of the seriousness of the threat without appearing to be someone trying to drag the United States into a direct military conflict and provoke a war.

At the same time, attitudes toward Netanyahu’s statements have changed within the U.S. administration in recent months, N12 claims. Sources in Washington told the channel that the American side at the meeting “intends to treat everything Netanyahu says with much greater skepticism, and not only on the Iranian issue.” According to N12, people in Trump’s inner circle believe that Netanyahu was wrong about everything he promised Washington regarding the war with Iran.

According to N12, Netanyahu’s influence over Trump’s decisions and over the U.S. administration as a whole has “significantly diminished” in recent weeks. Indirect confirmation of this, the channel says, includes the deal with Turkey on F-35 fighter jets, the nuclear agreement with Saudi Arabia, about which Israel knew very little, and the memorandum of understanding with Iran, which was signed practically without Israel’s involvement.
