Keiko Fujimori has been sworn in as Peru's new president.

The inauguration ceremony was broadcast live on television on Tuesday.

"I, Keiko Fujimori, swear to faithfully fulfill the duties of president entrusted to me for the period 2026 to 2031," she said.

The leaders of Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile—Javier Milei, Rodrigo Paz Pereira, and Jose Antonio Kast—had arrived in Peru to attend Fujimori's inauguration.

According to the new president, Peru's new authorities will prioritize two main areas: neutralizing the effects of the El Niño climate phenomenon, and ensuring the safety of Peruvian citizens.

Also on the agenda are the development of infrastructure, the simplification of bureaucratic procedures, support for youth initiatives, and the provision of additional payments to the elderly of Peru.
