Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Donald Trump during talks that the Jewish state would not launch strikes on Iran on its own initiative without Washington's permission, Israeli sources say, AP reported.

During the conversation with Trump in Washington, Netanyahu added, however, that in the event of an Iranian attack on Israel, the latter reserves the right to retaliate.

The Israeli prime minister told the American leader that Israel will continue to provide the US with new intelligence on Iran.

At the same time, Netanyahu said that Washington will have to take into account the position of its Arab allies in the Middle East in a conflict with Iran.

He assured the US president that Israel fully trusts Washington and will support any decision Trump makes on the Iranian issue.
