US President Donald Trump was caught handing out breath-freshening candies to his officials at the memorial service for Senator Lindsey Graham.

The US president, his son Eric and his wife, Vice President JD Vance, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles were seated in the front row of the memorial service at the Washington National Cathedral on Tuesday.

As those in attendance offered eulogies and remembered the senator with a hardline anti-Russian stance, Trump pulled breath-freshening candies from his jacket pocket and offered them to Vance and Bessent, who were sitting next to him. The latter, although somewhat surprised and confused, accepted the US leader's hospitality with a smile, which clearly amused Trump.

Earlier, during the spiritual singing, the US president looked visibly bored: unlike the others, he did not follow the prayer book and did not try to sing, looking around with a detached gaze.

Lindsey Graham's office reported on July 12 that the 71-year-old senator had died of cardiovascular complications. A few days before his death, he had returned from a visit to Ukraine.
