Air pollution levels in the Gironde and Landes departments of France continued to range from "very bad" to "extremely dangerous" on Wednesday due to raging wildfires, according to the Atmo Nouvelle-Aquitaine organization, which monitors air quality in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in France.

The ecological crisis is the result of wildfires, which have increased the concentration of PM2.5 and PM10 suspended particles in the atmosphere.

The air pollution is caused not only by thick smoke, but also by an increase in ozone levels, which is also contributed to by the prevailing hot and sunny weather.

According to BFMTV, the air temperature in Gironde on Wednesday may rise to 42 degrees Celsius, which will further complicate the fight against the wildfire there.
