In the period from January to June 2026, compared to the same period in 2025, Armenia's economic activity index was 7.9 percent, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the government’s Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
According to him, Armenia's activity in the industrial sector was 10 percent, in the services sector—11 percent, and in the construction sector—24 percent . At the same time, he acknowledged that certain problems are observed in the country’s agricultural sector.
Pashinyan highly assessed the possibility of setting new records in Armenia's tourism sector, adding that compared to June 2025, the economic activity index in June 2026 had increased by 7.7 percent.
The premier recalled that Moody’s on Tuesday issued a decision, according to which the outlook for Armenia’s sovereign rating was revised from “stable” to “positive,” and its long-term sovereign rating was confirmed at Ba3.
According to him, these changes were made based on the decrease in geopolitical risks, which is due to the decrease in the likelihood of a large-scale military conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey, and the diversification of Armenia’s external partners.
“The agency forecasts 5 to 5.5 percent economic growth [for Armenia] in 2026-2027,” the prime minister concluded.
