Employees of businessman and opposition Prosperous Armenia Party chairman Gagik Tsarukyan's facilities closed by the authorities have given the government time until August 3.

As part of the "Tsarukyan case," several dozen facilities—from sports complexes to factories—belonging to Gagik Tsarukyan have been closed, and more than 10 thousand people are on the verge of losing their jobs.

Numerous employees of the closed enterprises on Thursday came to the government building, demanding to be received and given an answer. According to the participants in the meeting, they were received by a certain Hamlet Nazaryan, who listened carefully to the complaints and promised to give an answer. But no timeframe or specific promise was made.

People demand to resume the work of the closed enterprises. All these facilities, without exception, are suffering huge losses, employees are deprived of their salaries, so they cannot repay their loans.

An hour later, there was still no response from Nazaryan. The people decided to give the government time until August 3. If there is no response by then, at 11am on that day they will return, with umbrellas, food and water bottles, to stay outside the government building until the issue is resolved.

The protesters began chanting “open up [the jobs]” under the windows of the government building, addressing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan personally.
