A senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader warned that possible U.S. strikes on Iranian infrastructure could lead to the “destruction of the system of American global dominance,” Mehr reports.

Mohammad Mokhber, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, made the statement while commenting on threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to strike Iranian infrastructure and the energy sector.

“You think in military equations, and we respond with the logic of history,” Mokhber said.

According to him, an attack on Iran’s vital facilities would have consequences far beyond the scope of a military conflict.

“Any aggression against Iran’s infrastructure will directly awaken the fault lines on which the architecture of your hegemony has been built for 250 years,” the adviser stressed.

He also said that if this system is destroyed, “there will be neither a center of control nor markets left to exploit.”

The statement came amid the continuing deterioration of relations between Washington and Tehran and mutual threats following the recent escalation of the conflict.
