In accordance with Article 158 of the Constitution, the Government submits its resignation on the day of the first session of the newly elected National Assembly. This was announced a short while ago by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
In a video he published, Pashinyan signed the Government's resignation. It has been sent to the President of the Republic. He noted that the members of the resigned government continue to carry out their duties, and that, once the term of powers of the newly elected National Assembly begins, the President of Armenia immediately appoints the candidate of the parliamentary majority as prime minister.
