During the talks announced by US President Donald Trump, his country and Iran will primarily focus on restoring full navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the American blockade of Iranian ports, diplomatic sources from the Middle Eastern state mediating the negotiations said, AP reports.

Accordingly, the cessation of all strikes in the region, including those carried out by pro-Iranian armed groups operating in Iraq, will also be a topic of talks.

Another key aspect will be the restoration of unhindered exports of Iranian oil.

The Middle Eastern countries acting as mediators intend to intensify their contacts with the US and Iran in the coming days. At this phase, the discussion may turn to returning to the main provisions of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries on June 18, AP adds.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that his country and Iran on Monday would hold talks on a peace agreement.
