The Armenian government will respond to the employees of the Multi Group Concern on Tuesday. This became clear after the results of Monday’s meeting between the protesting employees of detained businessman and opposition Prosperous Armenia Party chairman Gagik Tsarukyan's enterprises that were closed by the authorities and the government representative, Hamlet Nazaryan.

This is already the second meeting between them. At the talk held last Thursday, Nazaryan had promised to convey the government's response on Monday.

But today, Hamlet Nazaryan announced that he would convey the demands and call back in an hour or two to reach an agreement for tomorrow's meeting.

It will become clear at Tuesday's meeting when and how the work of the aforementioned enterprises will resume.

The protesters, however, decided not to disperse and to wait for the call. Their demands consist of three points: When will the aforementioned facilities reopen? When will the freezes on employees' accounts be lifted? And who will pay for the downtime of these facilities?

People emphasize that the downtime has been going on for more than a month, they have no means of subsistence and repaying the loans demanded by the banks, and the said facilities are suffering losses of billions of drams.

The situation is completely uncertain also in terms of the future: For example, hundreds of rooms in hotels owned by Tsarukyan are reserved for participants of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia in the fall, and it is not clear whether or not these hotels will be able to receive guests.
