Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan on Friday met with representatives of the World Bank and the Armenian Territorial Development Fund, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.

During the meeting, the progress of the Tourism and Regional Infrastructure Project (TRIP) was discussed, as well as matters related to improving its implementation mechanisms, making processes more flexible and accelerating.

Highlighting the role of this project in the development of tourism and the modernization of regional infrastructure in Armenia, the parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue close cooperation in order to ensure the effective implementation of the planned activities in the country.

TRIP envisages an investment of 120 million euros for the development of tourism clusters in Armenia’s Goris, Areni, Jermuk, Yeghegis, Dvin, Gyumri, and Dilijan communities. The project aims to promote the development of wine, spa, adventure, cultural, educational, and ecotourism.
