Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II has arrived in the court of first instance of general jurisdiction of Armavir Province, in Vagharshapat city—better known as Ejmiatsin.

Those assembled in the courthouse yard greeted the Catholicos with applause and chants.

The trial against the Catholicos of All Armenians as well as six archbishops and bishops begins today.

Along with Karekin II, Archbishops Nathan Hovhannisyan and Haigazun Najarian, as well as Bishops Moushegh Babayan, Hovnan Hakobyan, Makar Hakobyan, and Vahan Hovhanessian are among the defendants.
