At the moment when speeches were being made in the National Assembly, and now, when I myself am speaking, our teammates are in the Vagharshapat community, at the place of participation in the judicial process against Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition “Strong Armenia” Faction of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, stated this at the NA session on Friday, during the debates on the matter of electing the deputy speaker of the parliament from the opposition.

Abrahamyan called for once again to think deeply about his last statement, noting that if someone had said something like that to him a few years ago, he would have considered it absurd.

“Unfortunately, today we have this shameful situation,” Abrahamyan added, and stressed that it is directed not only against the Catholicos, but also against the thousand-year history of the Armenian people.

After that, the majority of the MPs of the “Strong Armenia” Faction left the NA Sessions’ Hall and headed to Vagharshapat city—better known as Ejmiatsin—to show support for the Catholicos at the trial there against him.
