Germany’s Foreign Ministry called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to continue on the path toward peace one year after the summit held in Washington, stating that Berlin and its partners are ready to support this process.

“We mark the anniversary of the summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan that took place last year in Washington with U.S. mediation. This important date created historic momentum in relations between the two countries,” the statement by Germany’s foreign ministry said.

The German Foreign Ministry called on Yerevan and Baku to continue moving along this path.

“We urge both sides to move forward on this path. Peace and stability in the South Caucasus are in our common interest,” the German ministry emphasized.

Germany also stated its intention to continue supporting the peace process together with its partners from the European Union and the United States.

“Together with our partners in the EU and the U.S., Germany will continue to support this process as it moves forward,” the ministry’s statement noted.
