Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking about the improvement of Tehran's relations with neighboring countries, separately mentioned cooperation with Azerbaijan. According to Pezeshkian, during Iran’s war with the US and Israel, certain difficulties arose between Tehran and Baku.

Azerbaijan had previously closed a number of routes, and the work of one of the Iranian banks was suspended in Azerbaijan. But after negotiations, the situation was resolved. "Regarding Azerbaijan, despite some political issues, dialogue and cooperation continue," the Iranian president said.

He emphasized that Tehran maintained contacts with Baku and held negotiations to resolve emerging issues. As a result, according to Pezeshkian, Azerbaijan provided Iran with the necessary assistance, including on issues related to routes. “They [i.e. Iran] accompanied us and provided assistance in everything that was necessary,” Pezeshkian said.

The Iranian president added noted that Tehran’s relations with neighboring countries have generally improved since the war. He noted that Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan have been assisting Iran, while Russia and Iraq have also “helped” the country “well.” At the same time, cooperation with Azerbaijan continues, despite the existing political issues.
