According to preliminary information, one person was killed and two others were injured in an explosion at the Asacha Gold Mine in Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, Interfax was told by the Kamchatka Territorial Center of Disaster Medicine.
The injured are in stable but severe condition, and their evacuation by land or air transport is being discussed.
The Asacha mine is one of the main gold mines in southern Kamchatka.
