The US Department of State announced the allocation of $15.5 million in funding to Colombia for emergency shelter, food, protection, and assessing the consequences of the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that hit the country.

“We are united in prayer with the Colombian people and stand ready to support [Colombian] President Abelardo de la Espriella and his government as they assess the needs on the ground,” the US State Department added in its respective statement on X.
