Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: We learned from our authorities’ sources that the so-called enclaves issue will be on the agenda after amending the RA Constitution.

The thing is that [Azerbaijani President Ilham] Aliyev first wants to close—without obstruction—the Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] issue once and for all by removing the reference to the Declaration of Independence [Armenia] from the preamble of the Constitution, and only then move on to the borders of Armenia.

Since, let's face it, the handover of Tigranashen—Kyarki—[village to Azerbaijan] will be of crucial importance, and if this process takes place, Aliyev may finally forget that the Armenian people will participate in the constitutional referendum. The thing is that losing Tigranashen will have strategic importance to us [i.e. Armenia], Vayots Dzor and Syunik [Provinces] may be cut off from the northern part of Armenia as a result of that.

By the way, some circles in the CC [i.e. Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract Party and its parliamentary faction] continue to hold the position that Artsvashen and Tigranashen [villages] should be exchanged, but [Armenian PM Nikol] Pashinyan is categorically against this option, that as if he cannot cede RA sovereign territory, namely Artsvashen, without a referendum.
