“The Ambassador congratulated Mr. Mesa Puyo on his election to this important position and highly appreciated the effective cooperation established between the Republic of Armenia and the Global Environment Facility.

During the meeting, Diego Mesa Puyo expressed his readiness to deepen and expand cooperation between the GEF and Armenia within the framework of environmental protection and the sustainable development agenda.

He also informed the Ambassador that he will lead the Global Environment Facility delegation to the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Armenia,” the statement added.
