The Ministry of Economy of Armenia will be allocated 5,365,640,000 drams ($14.7 million) to fulfill obligations arising from the implementation of a measure to support the export of certain types of products. The relevant decision was made at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

As a result of the decision, it will be possible to reimburse the expenses of Armenia’s economic entities in June and July in the case of the export of fruits (apricots, plums, cherries, strawberries, peaches, nectarines), vegetables (tomatoes, peppers), flowers, bottled natural mineral water, bottled grape and fruit wine, bottled Armenian brandy or Armenian cognac, dried fruits or vegetables, as well as trout and sturgeon.

Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan informed that the amount of apricot exports from Armenia has significantly decreased, amounting to 10,600 tons. He added that this is also due to the reduction in the harvest.

According to him, in June and July, cherry exports from Armenia dropped by no more than 10 percent compared to the previous year. But peach and nectarine exports have increased.
