The five-year program of the new government of the Republic of Armenia (RA) has been developed.

According to Article 151 of the Constitution of Armenia, within 20 days after the formation of the new government, the prime minister shall present the government's program to the National Assembly.

Due to the need to ensure the implementation of the above-mentioned, the government's program has been developed, and it will be presented at the government Cabinet session.

After the National Assembly approves the government's program, the government will approve, within a three-month period, the five-year program of measures for the government's activities.

According to the program, the government of Armenia will pursue a balanced and balancing foreign policy, and will continue to deepen strategic and partnership relations with the US, Georgia, China, France, the European Union (EU), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Iran, Russia, India, and several other partners. The program also states that Armenia will continue its work in the Board of Peace, and work will be carried out towards membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Regarding the deepening of Armenia’s strategic partnership with the EU, it is noted: “The sectoral development and integration of strategic cooperation with the EU will continue, aimed at the full and effective implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, as well as Armenia’s alignment with the European Union’s standards in democracy and the rule of law, economic, financial, environmental, social and other areas, based on the 2025 Law on the Launch of the Process of Accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union. The visa liberalization action plan will be completed, aimed at liberalizing EU visas for citizens of the Republic of Armenia.”

The program states as follows on Armenia’s relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey: “The government will continue its work on signing and ratifying the agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between the RA and Azerbaijan, continuing the work on the delimitation and demarcation of the state border with Azerbaijan, intensifying contacts between civil societies, business communities of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and bilateral trade.

Work will be carried out to establish Armenia-Turkey diplomatic relations, [re]open the Armenia-Turkey border and operate at least 2 modern checkpoints, relaunch and expand transport, energy and digital infrastructure, promote bilateral and multilateral trade.”
