The Armenian government has publicized its 2026-2031 program, which will be discussed at the government Cabinet session Thursday, and then sent to the National Assembly. Deepening strategic partnership with the European Union (EU) and the US is in this program, which reads as follows, in particular:
“Deepening strategic partnership with the European Union
The sectoral development and integration of strategic cooperation with the EU will continue, aimed at the full and effective implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, as well as Armenia’s alignment with the European Union’s standards in democracy and the rule of law, economic, financial, environmental, social and other areas, based on the 2025 Law on the Launch of the Process of Armenia’s Accession to the European Union. The visa liberalization action plan will be completed, aimed at liberalizing EU visas for citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
Deepening strategic partnership with the United States of America
Based on the charter of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America, the bilateral partnership will be further deepened for the benefit of both countries, and cooperation will be expanded on a wide range of issues of mutual priority. Sectoral cooperation with the US will continue, based on the memoranda of understanding signed between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia in August 2025 and the charter of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America. The TRIPP project will be implemented, at least with the exploitation of energy and railway infrastructure, integrating Armenia into major regional infrastructure projects.”
