Armenia is ready for full transparency and joint inspections with relevant Russian structures, but the path to diversifying Armenia’s economic ties remains unchanged, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press briefing Thursday.

Commenting on Russian’s expectations regarding inspections and programs to eliminate violations in Armenian products, Pashinyan emphasized Armenia’s readiness for open cooperation.

“Our [i.e. Armenia’s] position is open: if the relevant Russian bodies have questions or descriptions of problems [regarding Armenian products being exported to Russia], we are absolutely transparent; we propose [to Russia] to come and conduct inspections together. But even if the Russian market [re]opens 100 percent [to Armenia] right now, in an hour, we [i.e. Armenia] will still continue to make additional efforts for diversification. This is necessary so that we are once and for all insured against such situations and do not depend on one direction,” the Armenian premier noted.
