The construction and restoration of infrastructure in the sections from Yeraskh to the border of Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan) and from Akhurik to the border of Turkey will be fully financed from Armenia’s state budget, and not at the expense of external private or state funds, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at a press briefing on Thursday.

Also, Pashinyan dismissed the assumptions that the undertaking of these obligations by Armenia means the refusal or removal of other participants in the project.

“This does not mean that the Russian side has refused to participate or has been excluded. This only means that the construction in question will be carried out on the account of Armenia’s state budget. The [Armenian] government undertakes the financing and implementation of specific sections of the infrastructure on its territory,” the Armenian premier explained.
