Yerevan is concerned about the current tension around Iran and hopes that the situation will be resolved as soon as possible through dialogue, while maintaining close partnership with both Tehran and Washington, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press briefing on Thursday.

Commenting on the foreign political situation and his government's intentions to deepen ties with Iran amid the US policy, Pashinyan noted that there are no contradictions in the respective actions of the Armenian side.

"We [i.e. Armenia] are certainly concerned about the tension and are in constant close contact with both the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Our main wish is that this situation be resolved as soon as possible. There is no contradiction between [Armenia] deepening ties with Iran and developing partnership with the US. Armenia pursues a transparent and balanced policy," the premier said.
