Russia’s Perm region has opened a criminal case against Ruslan Mamedov, an Azerbaijani citizen who was arrested Friday, in connection with an offer for taking a bribe, local media report.
The arrest was carried out with the assistance of Rosguard, the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of Russia.
A person of South Caucasus origin, being a leader of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Perm, had offered to illegally stop the criminal prosecution of a Perm resident through unidentified law enforcement officers in exchange for a monetary reward, the FSB reported.
Mamedov has been banned from entering Russia until June 4, 2076, in accordance with the law.
