The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) does not cooperate with Armenia in military, technico-military, and other sectors, said Mikael Agasandyan, Director of the First Department for CIS Countries at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“At the moment, there is no cooperation with Armenia in the military, technico-military, and other sectors within the CSTO,” Agasandyan said, answering the question of whether Armenia is granted preferential conditions for technico-military supplies within the CSTO framework.

The Russian MFA official noted that sectoral cooperation with Armenia is maintained on a bilateral basis. “There is a necessary legal framework, which, among other things, provides for the supply of military-purpose products on preferential terms,” Agasandyan said.

Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the CSTO, Viktor Vasilyev, had stated that adopting a decision to deprive Armenia of its voting rights in the CSTO bodies would require consensus. He had informed that the next meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council will be held in Moscow on November 11, and the heads of member states will likely discuss the matter.
