Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan on Tuesday received Iranian Ambassador Khalil Shirgholami, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia.
During the meeting, the development of economic cooperation, expansion of trade and investments, as well as development of infrastructure and business ties between Armenia and Iran were discussed.
Also, Papoyan noted that the high-level political dialogue between the two countries should be transformed into more tangible economic results by expanding the presence of Armenian products in the Iranian market and more effectively using the opportunities provided by the Eurasian Economic Union-Iran free trade agreement.
During the talk, the prospects for energy and logistics cooperation, as well as the possibilities of long-term diesel fuel and liquefied gas supply between Armenia and Iran, were also discussed.
In addition, Minister Papoyan proposed considering expanding cooperation in several main areas: increasing trade and Armenian exports, joint production and investments, energy and logistics cooperation, as well as continued improvement of border procedures between the two countries.
