Armenia should stop pursuing a false policy: simultaneously striving to join the European Union (EU) and continuing to benefit from the opportunities of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), stated Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the Russian State Duma.

“We would like Armenia not to pursue a false policy, because if Armenia passes a law on its intention to join the European Union, then why are you using the opportunities of the EAEU? Why are you deceiving its [other] participants?” Volodin noted, RIA Novosti reports.

He added that this is cynical and wrong on the part of Armenia.

“Take it and say: are you going to the European Union? Go. But in that case, there is no need to get privileges here [in the EAEU],” said the speaker of the Russian State Duma.
