Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov expressed hope that all domestic political processes in Armenia will be carried out in accordance with the law, RIA Novosti reports.
"I would not like to comment on the domestic political developments in Armenia now. There are very complex processes underway there. One can only hope that everything that is happening will be carried out in strict compliance with the law, and the rights of all participants in the political process in the [Armenian] republic will be preserved," Peskov said.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had noted that the opposition forces of Armenia are striving for the entry of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) peacekeepers into the country, but this will not happen. The statement was made in parliament a few hours after the detaining of the leader of the opposition "Armenia" Alliance, former president Robert Kocharyan.
