Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday will hold talks on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk commented on the upcoming meeting.

“We [i.e. Russia] maintain an optimistic disposition and wish the prime minister of Armenia success,” Overchuk said.

According to the Kremlin, the key topics of discussion will be matters on the bilateral agenda, including problematic aspects of relations between Moscow and Yerevan, as well as Armenia’s foreign policy course amid statements about its rapprochement with the European Union.
