Russian President Vladimir Putin is holding a bilateral meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, TASS reports.

The talks became the first face-to-face meeting between Putin and Pashinyan after the elections held in Armenia. The last time the Russian president and the Armenian prime minister met was in April 2026.

The Russian delegation at the talks included Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, presidential aide Yury Ushakov, Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin, Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev, head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert, Russian Railways CEO Oleg Belozerov, and Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev.

Before meeting with Pashinyan, Putin took part in a meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State and the SCO+ format meeting, and also held a number of bilateral talks.
