I didn’t say anything about Tigranashen, I said about Kyarki. During the pre-election period, I spoke also about enclaves; there is nothing new in that. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this at Thursday’s press briefing, referring to the remark that the handover of Tigranashen village to Azerbaijan would be very fair, because the majority of Tigranashen and, in general, the Paruyr Sevak rural community of Armenia voted for him during the parliamentary election on June 7, and to the question as to whether he had visited those communities during the election campaign and told the residents there that he will hand over their homes to Azerbaijan.

“We have said that the RA [i.e. the Republic of Armenia] territory is 29,743 km, Kyarki [i.e. the Azerbaijani name for Tigranashen] and other enclaves have never been in that calculation. Instead, Artsvashen [village] was and is in that calculation. People live in Artsvashen, too. And what? Is Artsvashen not an RA territory? In any case, there is no agreement on this part, the most important nuance about this is that I expect the nerves around this matter to be zeroed, so that it will also be clear to the outside world that there is no nerves around this matter, this matter will be resolved in the best possible option,” Pashinyan said.

He emphasized that by speaking on this topic, he is not speaking against the interests of Armenia, but is acting in accordance with the interests of Armenia.

“I consider the matter partially resolved, because I don’t know how the journalists and the [Armenian] opposition, but the RA public has accepted my message, and there is no more nerves around this matter in the RA,” the Armenian premier said.
