The spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Maria Zakharova, has reacted to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement about the Russian military base in Armenia.

On her Telegram channel, Zakharova drew attention to Pashinyan's statement that Yerevan "does not consider the presence of the Russian 102nd Military Base [in Gyumri, Armenia] a vital necessity, but has not yet raised the issue of its withdrawal." Also, Pashinyan had noted that the Armenian authorities would not object if Russia decides to withdraw the military base.

At the same time, Pashinyan had added that if Moscow wants to keep this military facility, Yerevan would be ready to discuss its further presence.

"Are you a man or a woman?" Zakharova noted in response, quoting a phrase from Russian Soviet novelist and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov's book entitled "Heart of a Dog."
