Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ararat Mirzoyan visited the Bovo GAS biogas production plant in Latvia.

Mirzoyan toured the production sections of the plant and got familiarized with the biogas production process and technology, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia.

The founder-owner of the company and honorary consul of Armenia in Latvia, Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, briefed Mirzoyan on the company's activities and overall production chain, including its contribution to the development of the energy system in the Baltic countries, as well as its implemented and ongoing projects.

It was emphasized that Bovo GAS is a unique high-quality biomethane production plant, which has been in operation in Latvia since March2024, purifies biogas and directly injects the resulting biomethane into the Latvian natural gas network.

It was noted that this project is one of the best examples of converting agricultural waste into renewable energy, including biogas in the production chain from egg to high-quality fertilizer production.

During the tour, the exchange of experience and the prospects for biogas production in Armenia were discussed. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan said that strengthening energy resilience and diversifying energy sources are among the priorities of the Armenian government.
