Let no one worry more about the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant than me, I am the first person responsible for the plant. Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) director general Eduard Martirosyan on Wednesday told this to reporters, in response to a request from the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent to comment on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's statement regarding the ANPP being a "security threat" and the need for its being shut down permanently.

Martirosyan emphasized that the ANPP is the property of Armenia, and the latter is obligated to take good care of it. He urged to show at least one nuclear power plant where 20 active measures were carried out during the 153-day break, as was done at the ANPP.

"No one has carried out so much modernization in such a short period of time. Recently, one of the European [nuclear] plants announced that it took six years to modernize. Look at what a huge, almost heroic work we have done. I do not want to praise anyone, but the work done will be evaluated by specialists from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who visit the plant on a regular basis,” the director of the ANPP noted.
