British Prime Minister Andy Burnham had informed US President Donald Trump in advance of London’s intention to impose a ban on imports of goods from Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
And the Trump administration did not oppose the UK-led initiative to impose new sanctions on Israeli settlements in the West Bank, US officials and Western diplomats say, Axios reports.
US State Department officials also told the British Foreign Office that they share London’s concerns about the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank, even if they do not agree with the need for a ban on imports of goods from these settlements.
