The messages and decisions adopted at the historic summit in Washington are well known to everyone, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told reporters.

He noted that important steps have been taken within the framework of the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

"A vivid example of this is the meetings of civil society representatives, as well as meetings between state officials [of the two countries]. The Joint Declaration adopted in Washington also notes that a new constitution should be adopted in Armenia in order to complete the process. Its timeframes and timing are an internal process of Armenia. After the [parliamentary] elections [on June 7], the prime minister of Armenia also made new statements that the text of the [new] constitution will be presented to the public by the end of the year," the Azerbaijani foreign minister added.

Bayramov noted that the Azerbaijani side is following the process, and Baku's position on the matter remains unchanged.
