Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will hold detailed talks on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held in Shenzhen, China, on November 18-19, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said, Kommersant reports.

According to him, Putin and Xi agreed to hold a separate meeting during talks ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek. Ushakov stressed that the parties intend to hold detailed talks, adding that considerable time is needed for this. “An agreement has been reached that these will be really detailed negotiations, which will take some time,” the Russian presidential aide told reporters.

The leaders of Russia and China will participate in the APEC summit in Shenzhen. Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov had not ruled out that a trilateral meeting between Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and US President Donald Trump could take place within the framework of this event.

Before that, Putin and Xi will meet in India at the BRICS summit to be held on September 12-13. According to Ushakov, no separate bilateral talks between the leaders of Russia and China are planned within the framework of this event. At the same time, however, the Russian presidential aide did not rule out that they could have informal contact behind the scenes of this summit.
