Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov will meet in New York this month, the Armenian foreign minister himself said in response to a question from RFE/RL.

“The meeting will take place within the framework of the UN General Assembly session,” Mirzoyan said, without elaborating on the meeting’s agenda.

The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly kicked off in New York on September 8.

The last meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs was in Bishkek in early September, within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. Bayramov had said after this meeting that he and Mirzoyan had exchanged views on a number of matters there and will meet again in the near future.
