Ambassador of Armenia Grigor Hakobyan met with Jabbar Ali Zakeri, Iran's deputy minister of transport and urban development and CEO of Iran Railways, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Embassy of Armenia in Iran.

The parties discussed the infrastructures and current opportunities of the railway networks of Armenia and Iran. Ambassador Hakobyan presented to his interlocutor the approaches being discussed towards unblocking regional communications, emphasizing the opportunities for developing communications through the territory of Armenia, increasing the efficiency of transport links, and expanding regional economic ties.

The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project was also discussed during the meeting. The Armenian ambassador presented the main principles and approaches of this project, including its envisaged mechanisms in the context of respecting Armenia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction, as well as unblocking regional communications and promoting economic cooperation.
