The West is openly trying to interfere in the political situation in the South Caucasus, Russian Security Council secretary Sergey Shoigu stated.

There are no unsolvable disagreements between states. And in the event of the emergence of disagreements, one must immediately assess who benefits from antagonizing neighboring peoples and states, Shoigu noted at a meeting of the presidium of the Scientific and Expert Council of the Russian Security Council.

According to him, as a rule, Western countries are behind this, and they are interested in maintaining their control over profitable sectors of the economy, transport and logistics corridors and resources.

“Moreover, they are openly and non-covertly trying to interfere in the political situation. In the South Caucasus, we see this not only by the example of Armenia, but also of Georgia,” added the secretary of the Russian Security Council.
