A meeting between the chairman of the Commission on Television and Radio of Armenia, Tigran Hakobyan, and the deputy chairman of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) of Turkey, Deniz Guler, took place Wednesday in Sofia, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Commission on Television and Radio of Armenia.

During the talk, the parties discussed the current developments and current challenges in the broadcasting sector, as well as a number of issues related to the activities of regulatory bodies.

The parties touched upon the opportunities for further development and expansion of cooperation between the broadcasting sector’s regulatory bodies of Armenia and Turkey, including the exchange of experience and professional knowledge, the intensification of sectoral dialogue and cooperation within the framework of initiatives of mutual interest, and the importance of expanding cooperation on international and regional platforms was emphasized.

The parties underscored the continuation of such meetings, stressing the importance of dialogue in terms of effective regulation of the broadcasting sector and joint response to new challenges.

The possible signing of the memorandum of cooperation, the draft of which is already in the development phase, was discussed as well.
