Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: Talks about replacing the Russian ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin, have become active again.

According to our sources, the RF [i.e. the Russian Federation] is looking for a candidate for the ambassador so that Kopyrkin say goodbye to Armenia by January. In general, both in Armenia and in Russia he is considered the most unsuccessful RF ambassador who has ever worked in Armenia.

The reason is that the ambassador, appointed in April 2018, is unable to establish cooperative relations with Armenia’s authorities, nor even maintain close contact with pro-Russian figures [in Armenia]. They believe that he is partly to blame for the fact that anti-Russian sentiments are flourishing this much in Armenia.

The change of ambassador is also considered a two-way process: if Armenia changes its ambassador to Russia, by the mirror principle, Russia must also change its [current] ambassador [to Armenia], who has been in office for the 9th year. Now they [i.e. Russia] are looking for a [respective] candidate.
