The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, on Wednesday met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria, Asaad Al-Shaibani, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Following up on previous contacts, the interlocutors discussed opportunities for developing Armenia-Syria bilateral relations, including through intensifying contacts and high-level reciprocal visits, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia. Views were exchanged also on the prospects for promoting cooperation in various domains.

Both sides emphasized their readiness to continue cooperation in addressing humanitarian issues, too. In addition, Minister Mirzoyan noted the role of the Armenian community in Syria as an unwavering bridge connecting the two peoples.
