Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday announced that he wants to deepen relations with Russia. “As for [Armenia’s] relations with the Russian Federation, we want to develop our relations, deepen our relations,” he said in an interview with the Izvestia commentator.

Pashinyan recalled that Armenia pursues a policy of balancing and seeks to diversify its foreign relations. At the same time, according to him, objective changes are taking place in Armenia’s relations with Russia.

The premier recalled that before the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the latter’s relations with Russia were focused on security issues, but now they expect a transformation. Pashinyan said that Armenia is constructively disposed and wants not only to transform, but also to deepen friendly relations with Russia.
