Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, in New York, the PM’s office informs.

The interlocutors underscored the holding of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, in October. The premier noted that the Armenian government was consistently working to hold this event in the best possible way and highlighted the high-level participation of international partners.

In turn, Antonio Guterres expressed a conviction that as a result of joint work, COP17 will be held in the best possible way. Also, the Armenian prime minister and the UN Secretary General exchanged views on strengthening the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, promoting regional cooperation, and several other matters of mutual interest.
