The joint coordination committee’s fifth meeting, dedicated to the implementation of the program for the double extension of the operation period of Unit 2 of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP), was held in Yerevan on Monday.

From the Armenian side, the event was co-chaired by Narek Apitonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, and from the Russian side, by Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General and Director for Development and International Business at Rosatom State Corporation, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia.

At the meeting, the work carried out to date within the framework of the aforementioned program was recapped, and current and upcoming events, technical solutions, as well as the further implementation of the program were discussed.

The parties underscored the coordinated and consistent implementation of work aimed at ensuring the safe, reliable, and long-term operation of the Unit 2 of ANPP.

At the end of the talk, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue effective cooperation and joint work towards the successful implementation of the activities envisaged by the aforementioned program.
