The Azerbaijan Investment Holding (AIH) and The Silk Road Fund (SRF) of China are creating a joint investment fund.

The total capital of this fund will amount to 7.5 billion Chinese yuan (about $1 billion), according to AIH.

It will fund investment projects both in Azerbaijan and in other countries participating in China's Belt and Road Initiative.

The fund will create a platform for AIH and SRF to jointly assess investment opportunities and finance promising projects.

The new mechanism will open up additional opportunities for expanding investment cooperation and attracting long-term capital in various projects.

The creation of this fund is based on a framework agreement signed between the aforesaid two organizations in April 2025.

AIH and SRF plan to continue their joint work to identify and fund projects of mutual interest.
